Lake House at Tims Ford Lake in Tennessee Under Construction

Here are a few progress pictures of our Tims Ford Lake House under construction. I'm sure we will follow up with more pictures as construction continues- windows go in soon, and it will take on an entirely different look of transparency- for now, it's wrapped up like a Christo!

New Arts and Crafts Inspired Residence, Middleton Development, Nashville Tennessee

Here are a few pictures of an Arts and Crafts inspired residence under construction in the Nashville area, in a development called Middleton. We're wearing our Voysey and Lutyens on our sleeves with this one, and trying to meld that inspiration with a modern, open floor plan. Hopefully we've succeeded on some level- there are a lot of architects and designers, especially in the American South, mining similar territory with varying levels of success. Home is being constructed by Castle Homes, whose team is also working on the interior design. We will update this project further as it nears completion.

Lewisburg Avenue Residence- Almost Finished.....

Here's a few photographs of our Lewisburg Avenue house restoration, remodel and additions, in Historic Franklin Tennessee.........almost finished! We will update with photographs of the finished product- hopefully on a sunnier day! Since the last post, the house has been painted to its final "historically inspired" color scheme. You can also see the garage/studio structure we added to the site toward the rear of the property, in keeping with the typical traditional arrangement.

Lewisburg Avenue Historic House Addition

Here are a few progress shots of our Historic Remodel and Addition on Lewisburg Avenue, in Franklin, Tennessee. The front has not been painted yet, so here are some "before" pictures. The rest of the pictures show the additions to the back of the house, and the new garage/"carriage house" accessory in the rear yard. There are also a couple of shots of some of the details at the back porch addition. William Powell is the Contractor.

Liberty Farms House- A Modern layout with Traditional Forms in Williamson County, Tennessee

Preliminary Front Elevation Study
This "country" house was built for a repeat client (I had designed a retreat on Roan Mountain in North Carolina a couple of years earlier) that had a strong programmatic notion as to the general direction of the design. Luckily for me, they were willing to let me flesh out the design with little interference, and really deviated very little conceptually from the original sketches. The house, garage, and pool area form an "ell" around a natural depression that hosts several large maple trees that were left undisturbed. The exterior combines limestone, painted lap siding,
vertical painted board on board siding, cedar shingle, and brick, in various combinations to accentuate the architectural forms. There are large porches on the front and back of the house, bracketing the main Living Room, so that the space has a view to the front toward the street and a pasture beyond, and back toward the more private pool and terraces. A trellised hot tub area and screened porch complete the pool and terrace area. Stephanie Gilboy did the Interior Design (and much more) and Rob Tallman was the Contractor/Builder.
